Man, Cave!

Man, Cave!

Men submit to God: Men must trust Jesus. Men Submit to God is a short blog post on why and how men need to submit themselves to the Lord. Men are often found submitting themselves in their relationships, jobs, and other areas of life- but when it comes time for them to submit themselves fully unto Christ, they resist. Men should not be ashamed or embarrassed about this submission; rather they should embrace it as a freeing experience that will set them free from sin and lead them down the path of righteousness! This blog will share some thoughts about submitting to God.

Disclaimer ahead: Cavin' ain't easy!

First, let's make this disclaimer: submission to God is the hardest thing we'll ever do, and God knows this. In the New Testament, it says in Matthew that we have to do pick up our cross and deny ourselves on a daily basis. Without the daily act of resubmission to God, it's easy to get off track. Men should submit themselves in every aspect of life- relationships, jobs.

Let's dig in!

Where should we submit ourselves to God? Men should submit themselves to God in every aspect of life. We are called to do this and it's the most fulfilling thing we can ever experience! Men who follow God on a daily basis enjoy peace, love, and happiness in their lives- living for Him is how men will find satisfaction!

We often feel like we're being bossed around or that there isn't any room for them. Let me tell you if anything else has made your life miserable then submitting yourself to Jesus Christ might be just what you need! We have so many blessings waiting for us from following His word- riches, and rewards which are impossible without him. As long as we give up our self-reliance, He'll take care of us through everything we'll go through in this life. So how do we get there from here? Here are 6 things you can do to Man, Cave!

1. Ask for God's help in every situation.

Men must ask for God's help. Men need to pray, read and study the Bible daily, and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Men should turn any worries or concerns over to him too - they can't carry everything themselves; only he has that power:

  • Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me all ye who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
  • Philippians 24:36 "The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us"

In the first verse, we can understand that if we go to God, He has the power, and authority to take the load off of our shoulders. In the second verse, we can see how awesome it is to know that whatever we are dealing with can't be compared to what God has for us.

2. Pray to Him at all times and thank Him for His blessings.

Men are supposed to pray.

  • Men need to praise God and thank Him for everything that He has done for them, as well as ask forgiveness of their sins; they should not be full of pride or anger but rather humble themselves before the Lord.
  • Men mustn't forget about prayer in times when things seem out of control because it is then most needed.
  • Men can also offer up prayers for others who have wronged them, even if they don't like doing so: "We know how much he needs this," (James) says. "Even though I'm mad at him right now."

Make no mistake, prayer is not something reserved for Sunday mornings or traditional religious settings. Pray is simply having a conversation with God, and he has given us permission to talk to him always (Luke 18:1).

3. Follow the Lord's commandments

Men need to submit to God because the Lord already knows what is best. We should not try to carry the burdens of life on our own. Men must believe in Jesus Christ before they can have eternal life (John 14:14). Men may be told by friends or family members that they're going about Christianity wrong but it's always better if men follow the teachings presented from scripture rather than manmade rules set up by human beings who cannot know everything. Men trust in God through faith because we don't understand why things happen sometimes like natural disasters which cause death and destruction.

4. Read the Bible daily, even if it is just a few verses.

Men need to be in the Word of God. They need the truths that are found there. Men must know these things and obey them.

  • Psalms 119:11 says, "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." Men cannot live for themselves, so they should not try to do it on their own without Jesus Christ. To know the voice of God, one has but to know His word.
  • We will always fall short if we only rely on what is within ourselves or solely believe in human philosophy, or practices exposed by even the best example that Man can give.

5. Practice humility by serving others in need without expecting anything in return.

Men should not be self-serving or prideful. Men need to put God first in all things and give Him the credit for everything they do so that He can receive glory from what is accomplished through them (Isaiah 48:11). Men need to serve others as well because of their calling to submit themselves under one head, Christ Jesus (Ephesians 5).

6. Keep an attitude of gratitude because we have so much to be thankful for.

We have been given so much by our Creator! We are blessed with family members who love us unconditionally; we possess physical strength and mental capabilities beyond measure; we can pursue careers or hobbies which interest us passionately - there is no end to what men can accomplish when they put their minds to it when we have the blessings of God on our side.

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us to give thanks at every opportunity.

A man should never take these things for granted but instead live his life as if each day were his last opportunity to reach out and embrace everything he loves about this world before he has to leave it someday soon.

Conclusion

The message for men is to submit themselves to God, and then they will have the Holy Spirit living inside of them. Men are not perfect beings and cannot do this on their own. It takes submitting your life completely--and that includes all areas of our lives--to Jesus in order for us to be obedient enough as a man so we can live out what it means to be called a follower or disciple of Christ. Men must trust Jesus wholeheartedly because He wants nothing more than for you to follow Him faithfully in every area of your life.
