Rev. Lester E. Thomas is one of God’s gifted ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Reared in a household of faith, Pastor Thomas accepted Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of nine and has not looked back. Often referred to as an “ole soul”, he preached his initial sermon on March 21, 2001. Having a passion for teaching and preaching the Word of God, Pastor Thomas firmly believes that the Word of God transforms lives, restores joy, and makes the wounded whole.

A passionate teacher with endless enthusiasm, Pastor Thomas has had an exciting journey walking with Christ. His service began at New Jerusalem Temple Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Lawrence J. London, where he served as the Chairman of the Deacon Board. He also served as Assistant Pastor and Director of Christian Education at Saints Tabernacle Christian Church, under the leadership of Pastor Walter E. Davis III, where he was responsible for the implementation and training of the ministries that educate and empower God’s people. Pastor Thomas has a passion for putting ‘pen to the pad’ and has been a contributing writer for “The Voice of a Prophet” Preaching Conference Devotional and Bishop Vashti McKenzie’s Lenten Devotional Blog. Pastor Thomas currently serves as the West Campus Pastor of Third New Hope Baptist Church. Currently, Pastor Thomas is writing a daily devotional that will be entitled, “God Speaks.”

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Pastor Thomas is a graduate of Cooley High School. Upon completion of High School, he enlisted in the United States Army, and received an Honorable Discharge. After serving in the military, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Fisk University, Nashville, Tennessee.

For almost 25 years, Pastor Thomas has worked in Law Enforcement, including at the juvenile, county, and most recently, the federal level. He has received numerous awards, certificates, and acknowledgments. He has always been known for his compassion and love for people. Pastor Thomas has always understood that true ministry allows you to be the person you once needed.

Pastor Thomas and his wife Renee have been married more than 28 yeas and are the proud parents of three sons, Renard (Cortney), Jalen, and Jacob, and two grandsons, Athens and Aero.
